Leslie’s List of Best Products for Curls

Most women with a head full of curls have tried a wide variety of products in order to manage and maintain them. If you have a bathroom shelf filled with half-used bottles, you’re not alone. There are so many curly hair products out there that it can feel impossible to find the one that works best for you.

Below is a list of “best products” for curls, based on my personal opinion as a professional and passionate hairstylist and colorist with a focus on curls.

Kinky-Curly Come Clean Natural Moisturizing Shampoo

The Kinky-Curly Come Clean Natural Moisturizing Shampoo is light weight and sulfate free, making it a perfect fit for women with curls. If you search for it on Google, you’ll see some high ratings for good reason. It cleanses and clarifies your hair, helping to revive your curls and reduce buildup while keeping hair well-moisturized. I’m definitely a fan.

DevaCurl One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner

If you have curls, you likely know the importance of an incredible conditioner. The DevaCurl One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner is an absolute favorite of mine and I honestly can’t get enough of this. It is rich and creamy, and best of all, appropriate for all curl types. Although it is designed to be rinsed out, I often leave it in to keep curls frizz-free and find it works best when left in.

Design Essentials Natural Curl Enhancing Mousse

Currently, Design Essentials Natural Curl Enhancing Mousse is my absolute favorite product. I have seen the best results when it is used on tight, curly, and coiled hair. However, I have seen it improve and enhance curls of all types!  When your hair is soaked, you can use this product to get a nice, wet spread. People with tight, coarse curls often deal with frizz but with this product, it is liquid enough to hold the curls frizz-free. It holds the curl well because it is a water soluble product.  If it is put into your hair when your hair is wet, it will hold your curl pattern.

Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly

If you have spiral curls, Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly is a gel that will help maintain and control spiral curls while keeping them frizz-free. It is a lightweight hold, made of organic and natural ingredients. It will hold hair with minimal “crunchiness,” and smells absolutely incredible.

Keep in mind that when styling curls, all products should be put into wet hair. You should be stretching excess water out of the hair by running your fingers through it and putting in the product afterwards. Avoid towel drying your curls, which will likely make them frizz and keep in mind that your scalp only needs to be washed once to twice a week.
